Sketch Geometry

In this Task

  • The sketch of Part 4 will be inserted from the Blocks palette into the editor , then exploded.

Before you Start

  • Use your drawing which was saved in the previous Session or make use of the sample drawing for this Session.
  • The view is set to Isometric South East; Workplane is displayed and set to Plane by World.
  • The model of Parts 1, 2 and 3 are shown in the editor.
  • The current layer is set to Part 4 Sketch.

Take Note

  • This design is part of an assembly. Save the design after completion.

With the view set to Isometric South East and the Workplane displayed, open the Blocks palette and drag the sketch of Part 4 into the editor, using a space similar to that shown below.

With Part_4_Sketch still selected, use Modify > Explode (SHIFT-ALT-E), making sure the sketch geometry is on the correct layer, shown below.

Press Escape so no objects are selected.

When all the Parts are displayed in the editor, use the Design Director to switch off the top-level layers of Parts 1-3 so that just the sketch of Part_4 is shown in the editor.


Save Drawing

This drawing is continued in the next Task.
