Creating a Blend using Fillet 2D

In this Task

  • Blends will be added to various corners to produce a radial blend to specific radii.

Take Note

  • When blending a polyline, the lines and arcs can remain as a single object, or reduced to a collection of lines and arcs.
  • Menu options for the Default menu and workspace, the Ribbon and Palettes are provided directly under the Command Name heading.

 

Fillet 2D

Ribbon : Modify | 2D Modifications | Fillet2D
Default Menu : Modify | Fillet2D
Palette : Modify | Modify | Fillet2D
The Fillet tool creates an arc or radius between 2 lines, circles or arcs to a specific radius.When blending a polyline, the lines and arcs can remain as a single object, or reduced to a collection of lines and arcs.

Select the Fillet 2D tool from the menu options above, then use the keyboard TAB key to access the Radius field. Input a value of 40 and press Enter.

Select across the inner corners of the area shown circled below.

The result is shown below. Next, use the TAB keyboard key to again access the Radius field and input a value of 20 and press Enter.

Select across the inner corners of upper right corner, so the result is similar to the illustration below.

Finally, use the keyboard TAB key to again access the Radius field and input a value of 4. Select across the inner corners to produce the radius shown below.
