In this Task

  • The overall length of the center lines will be adjusted.

Before you Start

  • Snap modes are not required for this task.

Take Note

  • The line is shortened or lengthened in the same plane.
  • Menu options for the Default menu and workspace, the Ribbon and Palettes are provided directly under the Command Name heading.

 

Line Length

Ribbon : Modify | 2D Modifications | Line Length
Default Menu : Modify | Line Length
Palette : Modify | Modify | Line Length
This modification tool shortens or lengthens a line to a position specified by the pointing device.A boundary edge is not required.The angle of the line will remain the same when the line length is changed.

Select the Line Length tool from the menu options above, then select the horizontal center line, shown below. Drag the left vertex outside the sketch, shown by the cursor below. The plane of the line will be maintained throughout this modification process.

Adjusting the length of the horizontal center line using Line Length

When the line is in a suitable position, left click. Repeat this with any center line in the sketch which requires length adjustment. The result is shown below.
