Inserting Drafting Palette Views

Estimated reading: 3 minutes 3 views

In this Task

Views which were created in the Drafting Palette will be inserted into the Paper Space area.

The correct scale will be applied to the viewport during the insertion into the paper space layout.

Before you Start

Prepare the paper space layout for an A4 (or similar) landscape layout.

Make sure there are no residual objects in the paper space layout.

Make sure all layers are switched visible.

Take Note

A viewport border is not displayed when using the drafting palette to insert views.

Unlike viewports, borders of inserted views from the Drafting Palette are not created.

Standard, Isometric and Sectional views can be inserted into the paper space layout in a similar manner to that used when using the Insert Viewport option. The significant advantage of inserting views from the drafting palette is that projected views can be created automatically and aligned to the associated view.

Switch to the Paper Space layout, making sure the correct format, page size and alignment is selected. If you are using the sample drawing for this Session, an A3 Landscape layout is prepared.

Select the Right Side view of  Part01 from the Drafting Palette, shown  below.
