In this Task 

  • A new offset will be created using the Parallel tool.
  • A 4-sided Polygon will be inserted onto the newly created intersection.

Take Note 

  • Different Polygon options are available. For this task, the Segment Mode will be used.

Parallel Lines

Default Menu : Draw | Line Parallel
Palette : Sketch | Line | Parallel
Creates a parallel line at a specified offset distance from an existing line.The distance is input into the Offset field of the Inspector Bar.The Offset data field can be locked when a fixed offset distance is required.The newly created line is inserted onto the current layer.

To create a new intersection on which to insert the 4-sided Polygon, create a Parallel line which is offset to the right of the vertical center line by 40, shown below.

Select the Polygon tool from the Draw menuthen input 4 into the Sides field. Activate the Segment Mode, shown by the arrow below.

Activating the Segment Mode

Position the cursor over the intersection and left click when the Intersection snap mode anchor is displayed. TAB to the data fields of the Inspector Bar and input the values shown below. Press enter after the 16 value has been input.

The result is shown below.
