In this Task 

  • A workplane will be applied to the top face of the solid.

Before you Start 

  • The view is set to Isometric South East.
  • The Workplane is displayed.

Right click in the Editor | Workplane by Facet
This workplane feature applies a workplane to a selected facet (flat surface) of a 3D object.The Page Up and Page Down keys can be used to cycle between the available facets of the solid.
 

From the menu options above , select Workplane by Facet.

At the prompt > Define the origin of the User Coordinate System, place the cursor on the top face of the solid, shown below.

By viewing the model from either a Front or Side view, shown below, the Workplane can clearly be seen on the top face of the solid. In the example above, the view has been turned to Front. Right click and select Front from the local menu.
