In this Task 

  • A radius of 25 will be inserted onto the upper and lower intersections created by the parallel lines.

Before you Start 

  • Snaps are not required for this task.

Take Note 

  • When a value is input into the Radius field, a fillet blend is created. When a value of 0 is input into the Radius field, the lines will be trimmed or extended to meet at a vertex.

Palette : Modify | Modify | Fillet2D
The Fillet tool creates an arc or radius between 2 lines, circles or arcs to a specific radius.When blending a polyline, the lines and arcs can remain as a single object, or reduced to a collection of lines and arcs.

Select the Fillet tool from the menu options above then TAB to the Radius field and input a value of 25.

To maintain separate lines and circles after the Fillet has been added, select the option below.

Select the ‘To Lines and Arcs’ option

Select the points on the lines as shown below, taking care to select the points in the pairs shown.

The result is shown below.

TAB again to the radius field and input a value of 0. Select the points on the lines in the pairs shown below.

The result is shown below.


Take Note 

The overall length of the center lines will be adjusted prior to dimensioning. It is not necessary to adjust the length of the vertical center line at this stage.
