In this Task 

  • A circular pattern will be created of the small circle using the Radial Array tool.

Before you Start 

  • Zoom in to the concentric circles.
  • The Center snap mode will be used; right click onto the Snap Tab to activate this.

Take Note 

  • When using the Array tool, the object to be arrayed is selected first.
  • Menu options for the Default menu and workspace, the Ribbon and Palettes are provided directly under the Command Name heading.

Array –Radial

Ribbon : Edit | Copy Entities | Radial
Default Menu : Modify | Array | Radial
Palette : Copy | Radial Copy

Note : Command is activated by first selecting the object.

This duplication tool creates copies of an object in a circular pattern around a common center point.In the example below, the selected objects will be copied 12 times around the center of the circle shown by the pointer, to produce a duplicate of the objects at 30° intervals.

Use the Select tool to select the small circle at the top of the drawing, shown below.

From the menu options above, select the Radial tool. At the prompt > Define the center of the circle, select any of the major concentric circles so that a common center point can be found, shown below.

At the prompt > Define the angle step, TAB to the data fields and input the values shown below. Press the Escape key to discard the selector shell from the original object.

The result is shown below.
