  • A circle will be inserted using the center point of an existing arc.
  • The existing arc was created previously using the Fillet 2D tool.

Before you Start

  • Right click onto the Snap tab at the bottom of the editor. Check the Center snap mode is activated.
  • In the Snap settings, check the ‘In Aperture only‘ boxes for vertex and midpoint. All 2D circle tools provide options to generate these objects according to specific criteria such as radius, diameter, tangential connections etc. For example, a circle can either be drawn from a center to a radial point, from 2 points on the diameter or by connecting 2 tangential points to other circles or lines. The geometrical and spatial information, as well as the properties (layer, color, line style etc) for any drawn object can be found using the Selection Info Palette. For example, the radius of a circle can be changed by selecting the circle and viewing the information in the Selection Info Palette.Similarly, geometric information, for example, changing the radius or a circle be done using the Metrics pane of the Selection Info Palette.

Select the Circle tool from the menu options above.

Position the cursor over the top left radius to find the center point. The center snap mode marker, shown next to the cursor as will be displayed make sure the ‘In Aperture Only’ setting is activated in the SNAP settings for Vertex and Midpoint. Right click onto the SNAP tab to activate this setting.. Additionally, the center point of the radius will be displayed, shown by the arrow below.
