In this Task 

  • The lower portion of the sketch shown below will be adjusted upwards using the Stretch tool.

Before you Start 

  • Increase the zoom in the area shown by the green rectangle below.
  • Snap modes are not required for this task.

Take Note 

  • The stretch tool is used to adjust a portion of a sketch by selecting the area to be modified. If all the objects are contained with the selection rectangle, the entire object will be moved.

The Stretch tool stretches or shrinks objects from a base point to a destination point.A selection rectangle is placed around the portion of objects to be stretched.

The area shown within the green highlighted rectangle will be moved upwards by 4.

Select the Stretch tool from the menu options above, then position the cursor in the position indicated by the number 1, below.

Drag the rectangle in a downward-left motion until the cursor is in the position indicated by the number 2, below.

Release the mouse button when the area shown within the green rectangle above is selected. Next, left click in the approximate position to that shown by the pointer, below.

Use the keyboard TAB key to access the data fields and input 4 into the Length field and 90 into the Angle field. This will move the entire selected area upwards by 4. The result is shown below.
