Cocentric Circles

In this Task 

  • A set of concentric circles will be inserted onto the newly created intersection.

Associated Tasks 

  • Using the Intersection Snap Mode.

Before you Start 

  • Make sure the Snap tab is activated. Right click onto the Snap Tab at the bottom of the editor and make sure a Snap Mode for Intersection is activated. 

Take Note 

  • If the Snap tab at the bottom of the editor is deactivated, the keyboard shortcut I can be used to target an intersection.

Concentric Circles

Ribbon : Draw | Draw 2D | Circle/Ellipse | Concentric
Default Menu : Draw | Circle | Concentric
Palette : Sketch | Circle/Ellipse | Concentric Circles
The Concentric Circle tool draws a series of circles at different radii from the same center point.The radii or diameters are input into the data fields of the Inspector Bar.

Select the Concentric Circle tool from the menu options above then move the cursor over the intersection of the center lines.

The Intersection magnetic marker should be displayed over the intersection and the intersection snap mode is displayed to the right of the cursor, shown above. Left click to place the concentric circles on this intersection.

Use the keyboard TAB key to access first the Radius, then the Diameter field of the Inspector Bar, then input a diameter of 30, then press ENTER.

Tap the TAB key twice to again access the Diameter field of the Inspector Bar and input a diameter value of 50, then press ENTER.

The result is shown below.


Take Note 

Dimensions which appear in the sketch below are for illustrative clarity only. Do not insert dimensions onto the sketch at this stage.

The horizontal center line will be adjusted at a later stage.
