Adding a Menu Panel

Estimated reading: 2 minutes 5 views

In this Task

  • Priority will be given to the boundary created by the sketch profile over the boundary created by the hatch pattern.
  • This is done using a ‘stacking order’

Before you Start

  • If the hatch pattern was the most recently drawn object, the F7 (or fn F7) keyboard key can be used to select it.
  • The instructions for this task apply to the LTE menu and Workspace, however Video Animation for the LTE and Ribbon Workspace is provided below.

Aligning Objects

Ribbon Menu : Format | Arrange | Align | Send to Back
LTE Menu and Workspace : Modify | 2D Align
A group of objects can be aligned using their common base, top, right, left or center edges.

When objects occupy the same plane, it is difficult to control their appearance when they are viewed on the screen and whenTo print the drawing, click onto A3 Landscape at the bottom left of the editor then go to File | Print.d. In the case of hatching, the hatch pattern creates its own border which frequently will occupy the same plane as the profile of the objects. So that the profile of the sketch is given priority, a ‘stacking order’ can be used.

At present, the hatch pattern and its own boundary partially obscures the profile edge of the drawing, shown below.

Hatch boundary takes priority over profile edge

To give priority to the profile edge, select the hatch pattern, then select the Send to Back option, shown top.

The stacking order of the hatch boundary and the sketch profile is reversed so that the sketch profile is given priority and the hatch boundary is moved behind, shown below.

Profile edge takes priority over hatch boundary
