Activity Overview 

During this session you will learn how to :

• Produce quick sketch of the rectangular-shaped objects.
• Create an x-y pattern using the Array tool.
• Extend lines using the Project snap mode and the Extended Ortho tool.
• Create cut-outs using 2D Boolean tools.
• Create annotation detail such as hatching and leader arrows.
• Adjust the ‘stacking order’ of objects.

Introducing 

The following tools will be used during this Session :

• Radial Array.
• Relative Coordinates and the coordinate input fields.
• 2D Boolean – Subtract.
• The Project snap mode.
• Format Painter.
• Leader Arrows.
• Hatching.
• Align – Send to Back.

Information 

• The Relative Coordinate mode will be used during this session. This produces a small red square in the editor. This indicates the 0,0 point in the drawing.
• The Animation movies in this Session are done using Command Line Input and the Dynamic Input Fields. This is activated by changing the Workspace environment to LTE. Use Tools | Workspace | Customize | Default Style to switch the environment between Default and LTE.
• Menu options for the LTE and Palettes are provided directly under the Command Name heading.
• The instructions for this task apply to the LTE menu and Workspace, however Video Animation for the LTE and Ribbon Workspace is provided in each task.

• A sample drawing for this task can be downloaded from the box above and saved to your hard drive. A copy of the finished drawing is found in the Blocks palette.
• The Blocks palette is displayed in the editor using Tools | Palettes | Blocks.
• The finished drawing can be dragged into the editor from the Blocks palette.
• All Blocks which are inserted from the Blocks palette into the editor must be Exploded. Make sure the inserted block is selected in the editor, then go to Format | Explode.
• ToTo print the drawing, click onto A3 Landscape at the bottom left of the editor then go to File | Print.the drawing, click onto A3 Portrait at the bottom left of the editor the go to File |To print the drawing, click onto A3 Landscape at the bottom left of the editor then go to File | Print.
