This modification feature allows a single entity, either an arc or a line, to be segmented at a specified position.Used to split a line, double line, circle or arc into 2 or more segments. This modification tool allows a single entity to be segmented at a specified position.Temporary markers are inserted, shown below left to indicate the split segment. The Select tool is used to select, then delete a segment.

Select the Split Entitytool from the menu options above then select a vertical line which is tangential to one of the concentric circles.

Slide the splitter to the intersection shown below to indicate the point of division. When the intersection magnetic attraction marker is visible, shown by the arrow below, left click.

As can be seen from the selected object below, the line has been divided into 2 segments at the intersection of the line and the circle.

Repeat this for the opposite side so that both lines are broken at the relevant intersections.

Line Style Properties

Properties Sheet
The Properties sheet can be activated from the Inspector Bar once a drawing object or toolbar item has been selected. This is a context-sensitive feature that is used to change any physical characteristic of an entity, including Text, Dimensions and Hatch. The Properties sheet is used to set the preferred method of how a tool will function. This is done by right clicking onto the icon and setting the preferred parameters. To modify an object, double click onto the entity, then right click and select Properties from the local menu. Alternatively, use the Properties Sheet at the bottom left of the editor.

An object residing on a layer such as ‘Profile’, can have the Line Style properties and Color changed without changing the layer name or moving the object to another layer.

In this task, the bottom portion of the newly segmented lines will be changed to a hidden line style, along with the circle to which it is tangential

Use the Select tool to select either of the segments, then hold down the SHIFT keyboard key and select the opposite segment and the circle to which the lines are tangential, shown by the arrows below.

Both segments and the circle are selected, select a different color from the layer pull-down menu, then select a Hidden line style, similar to the illustration below.

Next, select the center lines and the PCD circle and move these objects to the CL layer so the result is the same as the illustration below.
