In this Task 

  • Parallel lines will be created by offsetting existing vertical and horizontal lines.

Take Note 

  • By locking the Offset field of the Parallel tool, the value remains fixed until a new value is input.

Parallel Line

Default Menu : Draw | Line | Parallel
Palette : Sketch | Line | Parallel
Creates a parallel line at a specified offset distance from an existing line.The distance is input into the Offset field of the Inspector Bar.The Offset data field can be locked when a fixed offset distance is required.

Select the Parallel Line tool from the Sketch menu palette, then use the keyboard TAB key to access the Offset field of the Inspector Bar.

Input a value of 33 into this field and press enter. Make sure this data field is locked by activating the Locked status of the padlock just above this field.

Select the extreme right vertical line then move the cursor towards the left.

Left click when the parallel line is in the position shown below.

Use the keyboard TAB key to again access the Offset field and input a value of 52 and press Enter. Select the new parallel line, shown as point 1 below then move the cursor towards the left of the new line. Left click when the parallel line is to the left of the new line, shown below as point 2.

Repeat this by inputting a new value of 16 into the Offset field and selecting the bottom horizontal line. Left click a position above this line, shown below.
