Session Summary

The following topics were discussed and demonstrated during this session. Please make sure the following topics are understood before proceeding to the next session.

A Rectangle is drawn as a single object but can be converted to 4 lines using the Explode tool.

A new line can be offset from an existing line using the Parallel tool.

Multiple snaps can be activated simultaneously by right clicking into the Snaps tab at the base of the editor.

A segment between 2 lines can be removed using the Trim tool. The lines which intersect the segment to be deleted are referred to as the cutting edges.

Multiple cutting edgescan be selected by holding down the SHIFT key. This will add or remove cutting edges from the selection.

Objects are selected using the Select tool. Objects are added or removed from the selection by holding down the SHIFT key.

Objects can be moved from one layer to another by selecting the objects, then selecting the layer from the layer drop down menu.

The overall length of a line can be modified using the Line Length tool. The plane of the line is maintained.

Quick Dimensions can be inserted onto the sketch by selecting the line or object to be dimensioned. Multiple objects can be selected to be dimensioned.

An Orthogonal Dimension creates a dimension between two points, usually indicated by using a snap mode such as vertex, intersection etc.
